Understanding Inflammation and How to Reduce It
Inflammation is the body’s natural response to injury or infection, and it can be beneficial in small doses. Unfortunately, inflammation can become chronic and result in long-term health problems. To understand how to reduce inflammation, we need to understand what causes it. Let's take a closer look.

The most common cause of inflammation is an injury or infection. When your body detects a threat, it produces a number of inflammatory chemicals that help your immune system fight off the threat. However, if these chemicals are not managed properly, they can lead to chronic inflammation that can have serious health implications.

There are many other things that can contribute to chronic inflammation. Poor diet and lifestyle choices such as smoking, drinking alcohol, eating processed foods, being exposed to toxic chemicals are all known contributors. Stress is another major factor when it comes to inflammation; when you're stressed out your body produces more inflammatory chemicals which can lead to long-term health issues.
While some level of inflammation is normal for our bodies in response to injuries and infections, too much chronic inflammation can lead to serious health issues like autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis or lupus. It has also been linked to an increased risk for cancer and other illnesses like heart disease.  It makes it harder to lose weigh when your body is in an inflammed state.  Therefore it’s important that you take steps to reduce any unnecessary sources of inflammation so that you don’t suffer from long-term health problems down the line.

The good news is that there are several steps you can take to reduce inflammation in your body. Eating an anti-inflammatory diet filled with fresh fruits and vegetables is a great place to start; certain foods like turmeric, ginger, garlic, and green tea have all been shown to reduce inflammatory responses in the body.   Avoiding sugar is a huge factor.  Gluten and dairy are also known to give people inflammatory responses.  So limiting these can be beneficial to your health.

Exercise is also important; regular movement helps reduce stress hormones while improving circulation which helps the body heal faster after an injury or infection.

Finally, getting plenty of sleep is essential for reducing inflammation; when you're well rested your body has time to repair itself after an injury or illness and this reduces inflammation levels throughout the body.

Reducing inflammation in your body should be a priority for anyone who wants to maintain their long-term health and slow down the aging process. By understanding what causes inflammation—namely injury/infection, poor lifestyle choices/dietary habits, and stress—you can make informed decisions about how best to minimize its effects on your body by making changes such as incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet, exercising regularly, and getting plenty of restful sleep each night. Taking these simple steps will help keep inflammation at bay so you can enjoy optimal health now and well into the future!

Meet Tonya Lamb

Most of my life I have struggled with hypothyroid, lack of energy, weight issues and a few autoimmune issues. I had things I wanted to do, but my energy level dropped lower than it had ever been as I got older, and I just did not have the motivation and focus to get all the things done I wanted to do.  In my mind had so many things on the to do list, but my body would say "not today."

Then one day I came across an article that hit home with me, it hit on so many of the things I had been experiencing and so much of it made sense.  At that moment I decided I am sick of feeling this way and I am going to get more serious about my wellbeing.  I started implementing recommendations from that article and doing some more research on the information.

It took months for me to start noticing a difference, but I knew this was going to be a long journey.  Now I am feeling more energized, happier, my autoimmune issues are much better.  Overall, I feel much better about myself.  I am treating my body better and keeping a healthier environment in my home.  I look forward to doing all the things I have wanted to do but did not have the energy for.  I have even been thinking about getting back into some weight training to get my muscle tone up.

If you struggle with focus, low energy, hormone issues, weight issues and want to start feeling your best and get your life back reach out to me. I am happy to help you.
